Often times, Medicare patients are targeted by insurance brokers during Open Enrollment who can push them towards plans that are out-of-network with your pharmacy or mail-order/chain preferred. Utilizing tools like Amplicare Connect, to send call campaigns, keeps your patients engaged with your pharmacy so they keep coming back! 

Campaign: Active Medicare patients

During Open Enrollment (Oct. 15 - Dec. 7), all Medicare patients are eligible to review their plan options for the upcoming year. Reminding these patients to stop by the pharmacy for a plan comparison increases your Medicare patient retention year-to-year and helps your patients save money!  

This is how it works:

  1. Go to Amplicare Match (iMedicare) => Open Enrollment report. 

You can also filter by "On Medicare-->Yes" if you schedule from the Custom Campaigns page of Amplicare Connect

2. Filter by Last Fill

  • Last Fill = last 3 months. In the following example, if today is 10/01/2018, we would select Last Fill = "After" 07/01/2018

 3. Apply Filters and "Select All"

4. Select "Schedule Calls" on the lower right:

  • Title the campaign
  • Select the appropriate voice recording (click here for instructions on recording a new voice message). Machine Answering recording is optional. 
  • Select the time you'd like the calls to go out


Open Enrollment script example:

"Open Enrollment is from now until December 7th. Here at {{Pharmacy Name}}, we want to help make sure you are on the least expensive Medicare plan for your needs. Most people save several hundred dollars annually by making sure they are the best plan for their needs.  Please give us a call at {{Phone Number}} to schedule your free consultation. Thank you and have a great day."

5. Select "Schedule".

Campaign: High value active Medicare patients 

For a more targeted reach-out, send calls to a smaller patient segment - active Medicare patients with the highest total billings. These are top priority patients you certainly want to retain!

Follow all of the above steps 1-3. Once the report is filtered by active Medicare patients (do NOT "select all"):

  • "Sort by" = "Total Billings"
  • "Select all on Page". Continue to the next page and repeat "Select all on Page" until you've selected the intended number of patients. We recommend selecting the top 50-200, depending on your patient population. 
  • Continue following steps 4-5 above to set the campaign live.

Campaign:  Potential Win-Back Medicare patients

Offering Medicare plan comparison during Open Enrollment is a great way to bring back patients that may have left for another pharmacy or mail-order. 

Potential win-back patients are patients that haven’t filled at the pharmacy in quite a while.  Reach out to this population to see what’s changed and touch base with them. They will feel appreciated and welcomed back, increasing your patient loyalty! 

Filters:

  1. Medicare = Yes -- unnecessary if you're scheduling calls from the Open Enrollment report. 
  2. Last Fill = "Between" 6 and 18 months ago. In the following example, we assume today is 10/01/2018.

"Hi this is {{Name}} at {{Pharmacy Name}}. We’ve noticed you haven’t been by the pharmacy in some time. Please let us know if there’s anything we can help you with. We are currently offering medicare part D plan comparisons to those looking to be on a more cost effective medicare plan. Plans change every year and your current plan may not be the least expensive option anymore. Give us a call at {Phone Number}} to schedule your free consultation today. "

Campaign: Slipping away Medicare patients

Similar to potential win-backs, "slipping away" patients haven't filled at your pharmacy in a while, but they have filled relatively recently. They're slipping away... and reaching out to offer a free plan comparison consultation during Open Enrollment is a great way to bring them back as loyal customers!

Filters:

  1. Medicare = Yes
  2. Last Fill = "Between" 4 and 6 months ago. In the following example, we assume today is 10/01/2018.
